Sound propagation in Phased Array and its types

Sound propagation in Phased Array and its types

Propagation of waves by Sectorial Scan (S-Scan) method

The propagation of waves using the Sectorial Scan method moves in the form of sweeping by using electronic sound change and despite the fact that the used elements are fixed, waves are sent at different angles.

The range of angles that can be created depends on the following factors:

  • The angle of the shoe used
  • element size
  • Probe frequency
  • Test material
  • Focus point distance

Wave propagation by Linear Scan (E-Scan) method

Waves are emitted by the Electronic Scan method, using electronic change of active elements and moving the waves in line with the elements.

In this method, the elements used are not fixed and the angle of the transmitted waves is the same.

Getting the right image depends on the following factors:

  • Choosing the right number of total elements
  • Choosing the right number of active elements
  • The size of the element is suitable
  • The right frequency
  • Proper sending angle
